Family Relationship Centres have recently been established throughout Australia to support the changes to the Family Law Act. The Family Relationship Centres provide information and assistance to families at any stage of their relationship and also provides separating couples with dispute resolution services.

Who Can Use The Family Relationship Centres?
The Centres provide services to help:
- Couples who are thinking about getting married
- Families who need relationship help
- Separated Couples
- Grandparents and other extended family who are affected by a family separation
What Services Do The Family Relationship Centres Provide?
The Centres provide information, advice, referrals and family dispute resolution services.
They also provide:
- 24/7 online support and information through their website.
- A national free telephone service (1800 050 321) for couples having separation or relationship issues. The service is available Mon to Fri 8am - 8pm, Sat 10am - 4pm, except on public holidays.
Do We Have To Go To A Family Relationship Centre?
No. The Family Relationships Centres are just one of the places where you can get help with family dispute resolution.
Is There A Fee To Use A Family Relationship Centre?
A Family Relationship Centre provides the following services for free:
- Information
- Referrals to another service provider
- Individual help and advice
- Public seminars
- Group sessions
- 3 hours of joint dispute resolution sessions per couple (6 hrs if an interpreter is required).
- 3 dispute resolution sessions within any 2 year period
