An easy way to gain a greater sense of inner peace is to get your life in order. Follow our suggestions for helping you create a sense of order and you will soon be on your way to feeling like you have much better handle on things.
1. Today's technology enables you to work from just about anywhere, anytime! Get a mobile and buy a laptop. This can add considerable flexibility into your routine.
2. Work out what times of the day you have more energy and are more productive. If it's the morning then tackle your more difficult tasks for the day during this period of time and save the afternoon for more less demanding jobs.
3. Clean your desk before you leave work. You will appreciate it when you get into work the next morning.
4. Before you leave work each night plan your next day. It will help get you going as soon as you get into work and give you structure and focus.
5. Decide on a realistic knock off time from work and stick to it.
6. Shop on-line, for weekly groceries, among other items. You may save money as well as time.
7. Pay bills - utilities, credit card, rent etc by direct debit.
8. Open your mail immediately - even your bills! Chuck out anything you don't need.
9. Keep a folder or notebook with all the tradespeople and repair services which you need to run your house.
10. Keep a shopping list on the fridge, when you run out of anything simply add it to the list.
11. Have a quick tidy and do the dishes before you go to bed. it's much nicer to start the new day in a clean space.
12. Avoid wasting time in the morning trying to find your keys by keeping them in the same place.
13. Add friends and family's birthdays to your calendar or make a list and place it on a noticeboard.
14. Keep a separate file for all your electrical items, manuals and guarantees.
15. Always keep a loaf of bread, a carton of milk and a couple of pre-made meals in the freezer. You never know when they might come in handy.
16. Plan your meals for the week - it's often more tiring working out what to cook versus actually cooking. You can then also shop for exactly what you need, saving you time and money.
17. Cook double the recipe and freeze the extra servings for later.
18. Eat breakfast. It will give you a good start to the day and help with concentration and energy levels.
19. Delegate as much as possible. Think carefully about each task and decide whether you really need to do it or whether there is someone else who could do it more quickly, more effectively or more cheaply.
